Our Society was formed in 1984 to assist members in their family history research by providing a meeting place for genealogists and family historians to pursue their common interest.
We are located in the Sutherland Shire, approximately 30km south of Sydney in New South Wales Australia.
The Society currently has over 500 members, our meeting nights are held monthly (excepting January) at Tradies, Gymea, featuring informative and entertaining speakers on a wide variety of subjects of interest to genealogists and family historians.
Our Research Centre and Library is located at Caringbah and it is also an affiliate library for the ordering and viewing of LDS films, giving members access to millions of worldwide records. Members also enjoy no-charge access to the indexes of Ancestry.com, FindMyPast (UK, Australasia and Ireland), The Genealogist and the British Newspaper Archives.
We publish a quarterly journal, The Endeavour, a monthly newsletter, The Botany Bay Bulletin, and a free E-Newsletter, all of which keep members and others up to date with all the latest news in the family history world.
Education Classes and Special Interest Groups provide a friendly learning environment for problem-solving and advancement of your research.
